You are as good as the people you are with. Unconsciously, you tend to become like the people you hang out with. For example, the people I used to hang out with were pleasure seekers and shortsighted. Their ‘popa’ and ‘moma’ give them money and they go out and blow it all out and ask their folks again the next day.

Fortunately, I didn’t have the same privileges. I started working for my money at a very young age. My efforts paid off and I was soon making not only to cover my pocket money but also my college fees. I soon realized this were not the people I wanted to be with. They were holding me back. I started mingling with other people who were something more than pleasure seekers. Some onliners and some offliners.

Its helped. Having a constructive discussion about a topic or a idea. Having them give their input about a strategy or project. A peer group at the same intellectual level of yours ensures that you reach your full potential.

I would also like to make it clear that I am not asking you to hangout with people with money. I am asking you to hangout with people at the same intellectual level as yours and whom you can have fun with. Look around and think are these people helping you reach your goals or holding you back?
